Nursery Education Grant for Free Sessions

What is the grant?

The Government provides grants for pre-school education. The grant is given to the nursery to fund free sessions for qualifying children and is presently available to all 3 and 4 year olds in the Rochdale and Bury areas. It is usually payable from the first term after the child's 3rd birthday.

How much is the grant?

The nursery will give you sufficient grant to provide up to 15 hours free care per week for 38 term time weeks of the year. There are DfES conditions about how the hours may be used and the nursery manager will explain your options and answer any questions you might have. Many parents prefer to spread the grant over the full year so they get an even reduction every month and our billing system is set up to enable this.
